Welcome to ECSWR 2021!

Here you will find answers to questions you might have about accessing the platform and navigating your way around the conference.

You will be receiving an email from the platform and login to the system to create your account.

There will be a direct link from the conference website. Once you create your account as indicated above you will be accessing the system.

When you log into Pathable you will be in the Lobby of our virtual meeting.

From there you can go into a Session, visit the Exhibit Hall, interact within a session or network with other meeting attendees. You can also edit your profile.

Each session will have a Zoom call that you will join once the session starts. Please keep yourself muted to prevent excess noise.

You can create your personal agenda by clicking the + button which is located next to each session. By adding sessions to your agenda you are also reserving a spot.

The schedule of the conference is based on Central European Summer Time. This is the current time in Brussels. The ECSWR 2021 platform automatically adjusts the time of the sessions to display the time in your own local timezone.

The virtual system uses the Zoom platform for the live meetings in webinar or meeting style.

In webinar style meetings you will be able to ask your questions via chat only. For the Zoom meeting you will be able to ask your questions via chat and also by unmuting your microphone.

The following sessions will be organized in webinar format;

  • Opening and Closing Sessions
  • Keynote Sessions

The latest upgrade of zoom is zoom 5.0. You can find more information on upgrading your version of Zoom here: Information on upgrade

As the system is using zoom integration you can unmute yourself at the Q/A phrase and ask any question if you wish. It is also possible to ask your questions by using chat function.

For the keynote sessions webinar meeting style will be used. At these sessions you will be able to ask your questions via chat only.

All live sessions will be recorded and will be uploaded afterwards for you to watch. At the start of each session, the chair will ask if there are any reasons not to record the session. You can use a private chat to ask any questions of the speaker.

  • - Within the system you can use any of the public chats on the right of each session to chat about the session, please note that these chats are specific to each session.
  • - You can visit the Conversation tab located at the top of header page header. There are two ways to start interaction. You can post your message from the public forum or click to the inbox section and start a private chat by clicking the new conversation button. This button will enable you to find all registered participants and send a direct message via the platform.

To send a message to someone:

  • Visit the profile page of the person you would like to meet
  • Click the Send Message button
  • If you would like to add additional people to the meeting, click in the grey area next to the first recipient and a drop down list will appear for you to select multiple recipients.
  • Enter the message you would like to send.
  • Pictures can be added to private messages
  • Click the Send Invitation button.

Your recipients will receive an email notification of the message.

  • - You can also send messages to the speakers/participants by finding them from the people section.
  • - The platform will also enable you to arrange 1:1 meetings with all participants.

In order to request meeting with someone;

  • Visit the profile page of the person you would like to meet
  • Click the Schedule Meeting button
  • If you would like to add additional people to the meeting, Click 'New Member'
  • Select continue to choose a date/time
  • Availability will be shown in a calendar format to easily navigate conflicts
  • Select date and time on the left hand side of the screen
  • Enter the Name of the meeting
  • Enter a short description for the meeting to give the invitees background on why you would like to meet.
  • Click the Send Invitation button.

Your recipients will receive an email notification for the meeting with the option to accept or decline your request. You will receive an email indicating their response. Please note that the maximum duration of a private meeting is 40 minutes.

A wired connection using an ethernet cable is recommended as it is more reliable than a wireless connection.

Laptops and desktop computers will give you an optimal experience as you will be able to see the full video on a larger screen. We recommend using Google Chrome as the browser. Although, the platform is compatible with all browsers and mobile devices.
